In February 2011 MAXAM PNG celebrated 2 years at Hidden Valley, our first PNG project. In the beginning many goals were set by our team to provide quality service and products to our clients as well as reliability to perform in one of the most unforgiving locations in the world, not just on the equipment but on our personnel as well.
In the past 24 months Maxam PNG has established a world class work force and depot/manufacturing plant which is situated close to 3000m above sea level in the highlands surrounding the Bulolo district of Morobe Province.
Almost all the staff employed by Maxam PNG are from surrounding towns and villages, the remaining few from Rabul , Bougainville and Highland provinces. The climate in which our operations are located has been difficult to acclimatise to for everyone, including our locals. Due to these conditions, the implementing of Health and Safety procedures needed to be developed and introduced well before services could commence to protect staff and equipment.
The use of Maxam’s safety management program “U-safe”, in conjunction with the ongoing co-operation with Morobe Mining Joint Venture and their safety department, has proven very successful.
Maxam PNG is delighted to announce that we have delivered our services to our client over the past 2 years LTI free. Our Maxam PNG team consists of 10 employees who have contributed to the 49,000 man hours without injury. We are very proud of this achievement and with the support from our client MMJV, we are confident that we can continue to reach further goals in safety and service.
